WELCOME MESSAGE
Our school, Woodland Elementary, is located in the scenic town of Dildo, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland which is approximately 100 kilometers from the capital city of St. John's. Our students come from the communities of Blaketown, Broad Cove, New Harbour, Old Shop, and South Dildo.
We are a K-6 school which offers a variety of extracurricular activities to our students because we believe in the education of the whole child. We are also dedicated to creating a safe, healthy and positive environment for teaching and learning for all of our children and staff.

Kindergarten/Kinderstart Registration
Online Registration for Kinderstart
(2024)/Kindergarten (2025) will get underway May, 2024. The registration dates are outlined below:
Starting Wednesday, May 8 @ 9:00 AM and ending on Thursday, May 9 @ 9:00 PM
You will need the following in order to complete an online application:
MCP number including expiration date;
An email address in order to receive confirmation of receipt of your application;
What school you are zoned for
Contact phone number and an emergency contact phone number; and,
An Internet-ready device
To complete the registration process, proof of address and confirmation of MCP number must be provided to the school on or before May 31, 2024.
This registration process is for children who will attend KinderStart in the upcoming school year and Kindergarten in the following school year. Children registered in KinderStart will automatically be registered to attend Kindergarten.
Autism Acceptance Month
April is Autism Acceptance Month. On April 30th we will engage all students in various activities throughout the afternoon that promote Autism Acceptance. Tuesday, April 30th we are asking students to wear bright colors or rainbow colors. Throughout the day the students will be engaged in activities to bring awareness and acceptance for individuals with Autism.
Clothing Order
The Woodland Elementary clothing order is available once again, due to parent/guardian requests. The deadline date is May 2nd. Don’t miss your opportunity to order as there will not be another order in the next school year! The link to order is as follows:
Scholastic Spring Book Fair
Our annual spring book fair will begin on Monday, May 6th for ‘Family Night’ from 6-8 pm. Each class will have the opportunity throughout the remainder of the week to visit the book fair with their class. The book fair will end on Friday, May 10th at noon.
Kinderstart Session
Our last kinderstart session will be on Friday, May 3rd. Therefore, there will be NO kindergarten classes on this date.

Crescent Spring Fair
On May 25th (9:00-2:00) Crescent Collegiate will be hosting a Spring Fair! They are looking for vendors so if you have a passion for selling products, whether they’re homemade goods, Tupperware, items from Epicure, etc. then this is a wonderful opportunity for you. If you are interested in becoming a vendor please reach out at christopersweetland@nlschools.ca . You will be provided with all the details and guidance to make your participation seamless.
